Project Details :
Funded by Groundwork, the Safety Net Service enables QALYCOM Health CIC to respond to urgent local needs and reduce barriers to health and wellbeing for vulnerable residents in Rochdale. This project is rooted in Groundwork’s commitment to supporting community-led solutions that address real challenges at a grassroots level.
The Safety Net Service provides emergency food and hygiene packs, essential household items, travel support, and practical supplies, helping individuals and families access essentials, employment opportunities, healthcare, and wider community services. Alongside this immediate support, the project delivers wellbeing activities and workshops that promote physical health, mental wellbeing, and social inclusion, reducing isolation and building confidence.
Groundwork funding also strengthens our organisational capacity by supporting volunteer engagement, outreach, and the safe delivery of services, while enabling us to monitor and evaluate impact effectively. By targeting those most at risk of falling through the gaps, the project helps ease pressure on local food banks, GP services, housing teams, and emergency services, while fostering community cohesion, resilience, and trust across Rochdale.
