QALYCOM Health CIC is a community-led organisation that tackles the social determinants of health such as isolation, language barriers, and digital exclusion across Global Majority and minoritised communities.
We act as a non-clinical bridge to improve health literacy and systems navigation. We take existing guidance and break it down into simple, translated formats. Through peer-support groups and workshops, we empower residents to master healthy lifestyle habits, overcome social barriers, and confidently access mainstream local services.
What We Do
We focus entirely on the social side of health and wellbeing through three main areas:
- Improving Health Literacy: We take existing public health information and break it down into simple, everyday language. We translate resources into community languages so everyone can understand how to manage their daily wellbeing.
- Systems Navigation: We run digital sessions and workshops that teach residents how to confidently find, understand, and use local online support networks and mainstream public services.
- Dismantling Isolation: We create safe, culturally welcoming peer-support groups where residents can share practical everyday lifestyle habits and support one another through challenges like the cost-of-living crisis.
How We Complements Mainstream Services
We do not deliver clinical care, medical tests, treatments, or independent health advice, which are the duties of the NHS. Instead, we act as a non-clinical, grassroots bridge ensuring language, technology, and social isolation do not stop residents from looking after themselves and accessing the local services available to them.
QALYCOM HEALTH ADVANTAGE
We are rooted in the community we serve.
We function as a non-clinical bridge through three interconnected pillars:
- Our Frontline Support Arm: Delivers responsive, trusted social interventions in local neighbourhoods. We establish culturally safe, multilingual peer-support circles and interactive wellbeing workshops that connect isolated residents and combat the cost-of-living crisis.
- Our Health Equity Intelligence Network (HEIN®): Ensures the social and cultural voices of residents are captured and valued. We map non-medical barriers, tracking how factors like digital exclusion or language gaps prevent people from accessing mainstream public resources.
- Our Community-to-Capital Loop: Turns real-time feedback from local people into actionable evidence. This system guarantees our projects are never imposed on the community; rather, they are entirely co-produced, designed, and verified by local residents before delivery to effectively dismantle social inequalities.
